Dispossessory Warrant: May I mail my answer in?

return to FAQs page

Yes. You can mail your answer, but in order to ensure that the answer is received by the Clerk’s Office within seven (7) days, mailing must be done in a timely manner.

The Clerk’s Office does not accept faxes or emailed answers and you cannot answer a dispossessory warrant over the phone. A late answer can result in a writ of possession being issued without a defendant having the opportunity to appear before a judge.
