Mr. G is a 19-year-old male who was accepted into the Misdemeanor Mental Health Court on December 13, 2012. He was referred to MMHC after being arrested on a Bench Warrant Criminal Trespass case. Mr. G is diagnosed with Bi-Polar and receives his treatment from Clifton Springs Mental Health where he sees a psychiatrist and therapist monthly.
There was a period when Mr. G. went without his medication because he said he couldn't afford the reduced rate. Once the Court was aware of this issue, the social worker assisted Mr. G. in this matter and resolved this problem. While in MMHC, Mr. G. also participated in the Men's group that is held on Tuesdays evenings with Mr. Bathrick. Mr. G. led a busy life while also attending school full-time at Georgia Perimeter College and working part-time jobs.
The last job that Mr. G. had before graduating from the MMHC program was teaching guitar lessons. Mr. G. loved his guitar and at Judge Stroud's request, he serenaded the Court on the day of his graduation from the program on August 8, 2013. Mr. G.'s performance was excellent and everyone enjoyed his talent. His music was reflective of his personality and attitude while in this program, peaceful and calming.
Mr. G. had full support of his mother and siblings while in the MMHC program and his sister was there for his graduation. Mr. G was case managed by Braddye Smith.
